My Personal values are: Try, unDefault, Fun and Legacy and together means I encourage, support and enable folks risk failing at something rather than succeed in doing nothing. I am a Venturer.

try

Try is an experiment, an experience that we can evaluate and learn from. It is having a go, often without all the answers. It is making the most of every opportunity.

unDefault

Default is a pre-set course of actions that we take; the ingrained usualness of life. Yet some of the greatest opportunities for us to try are found when we do the unDefault and do things a different way.

fun

Trying stuff, especially unDefault stuff, is great fun especially when we don't take ourselves too seriously. Life should be fun, lots and lots of fun.

legacy

There is no point doing all this great stuff if it doesn't help other people. If we are going to do life, we may as well change the world at the same time: it's our legacy.

I am a business guy that has had more failures than successes; it is just that my successes far out-weigh my failures. That's great news as it means that I now have a bunch of companies with a multi-million pound turnover, but more importantly, I have a great team that has an ability to make magic happen. I believe that culture is the most important thing for me to focus on so that work stands for something more than just a pay cheque.

My kids would love me to buy an Aston Martin, my wife would prefer me to spend money on the house (or donate it) but if I could afford it I would buy Liverpool Football Club for no sensible reason: I'm just a fan.
