In this video, eCommerce coach and entrepreneur, Matt Edmundson gives feedback for an online store selling customised signs, www.3signs.co.uk.
The biggest issue that the owner of www.3signs.co.uk is facing is getting traffic to his website. He has tried Ad-words, PPC and SEO but is still struggling with their niche.
A quick google search reveals that however niche, there is a market for customised signs out there. Looking at competitor sites we can see that they are getting 50% of their traffic through a google search and 50% are coming directly to them. Question for 3signs then is, what are the competitors doing differently to attract the custom.
Matt’s concern is that not only does 3signs have the issue of getting traffic they are also probably not getting the conversions either because the competitors are doing their websites better.
There are two things that can be done to get traffic: 1) customers know your web URL or you are coming up on natural rankings for google using SEO or 2) you pay to be put in front of somebody. My experience with something like this is that when I’ve tried it and it’s not working I have handed it over to an expert and it sometimes works better. These things need to be played around with a bit.
